Burraneer Family Practice has been GP owned and operated for over 30 years. We provide a quality evidence-based medical facility for our local community and aim to employ ethical, dedicated and friendly staff.

Our doctors and nurses cover a range of experience and special interests and are up to date with technology and medical advances. Ongoing education and skills development are encouraged and supported for all staff.

We provide a beautiful workplace within a lovely 100-year-old corner shop/residence converted into a functional comfortable up to date surgery with great cafes and shops just down the road. We have a generous staff meeting/dining room with outdoor terrace and provide secure bike parking and shower facilities.

Practice Nurses

This is a rewarding patient focused role. The days and hours worked can be flexible within our collaborative and supportive nursing team.

Renumeration is commensurate with skills and experience.

Practice nursing work includes procedural assistance, wound management, chronic disease management, immunization, medical stock management and practice quality improvement and accreditation.

Required skills are:

  • RN
  • Recent nursing experience
  • Preferably nurse immunizer
  • Current AHPRA registration and CPR/BLS certification.

General Practitioner

We aim for a friendly supportive atmosphere for all staff and for a team that enjoys coming to work in our collaborative relaxed environment.

We practice high quality evidence-based medicine, are fully accredited and participate in research. We are a teaching practice for both registrars and medical/nursing students and have several programmes involving in-house education:

  • Weekly practice clinical lunch meetings
  • ‘Small group learning’ supported by the PHN and RACGP involving 2 hours of interactive education every 2 months by allied health or specialists.
  • Monthly lunchtime educational meet and greets with local specialists and Allied Health
  • CPR training is provided onsite for all staff as part of our accreditation cycle.

We are an independent practice and fully GP owned. The hours and days our GPs work are flexible, we are private billing and support special interest areas of GP work. We have spacious well equipped consultation rooms and a large purpose designed treatment room with a surgical overhead light and adjustable bed.

Reception Staff

Reception duties involve front desk interactions helping patients feel welcome, safe and heard.

Duties also include appointment management, phone enquires and billing.

Preferred skills:

  • Recent Medical or Allied Health reception experience
  • Knowledge of Best Practice software or similar medical booking system
  • Knowledge of Medicare billing
  • Ability to work in a team and be flexible with hours.
