We offer urgent appointments - We keep appointments available every day for the acutely unwell, if you cannot find one online please call the surgery.

Annual Health Assessments

Our practice nurses provide comprehensive health assessments for the over 75’s. These are bulk billed and completed by the patients usual GP. They are an excellent way to pick up on health issues that regular appointments may not afford enough time to address.

Early Childhood Nurse

Our early childhood nurse is here on Wednesday and Thursdays to assist with growth and development assessments, feeding and settling issues as well as general mothercraft support.

Nursing Services

We have a team of Registered Nurses who can provide a multitude of services including wound assessment and dressing, vaccinations, ECG’s, INR’s and many other services

Home Visits

Some of the doctors perform home visits and nursing home visits for regular patients of the Practice in times of incapacitating illness. Patients must reside within 5km, and this service is at the Doctor’s discretion. Please phone the practice as early as possible to request this service and reception will advise availability in consultation with the Doctor.

Privacy When in Distress

If you are under distress, we can arrange some privacy whilst you are waiting to see your doctor.

Reminder Systems

We have established computerised reminder systems for various conditions i.e. diabetes.

Investigation Results

The doctors will advise how to obtain the results of investigations at the time that they are ordered.

Skin Cancer Checks and Treatment

Doctors at Burraneer Family Practice can perform skin cancer checks, and some have completed advance training in this area. Procedures to diagnose and manage common skin cancers are done onsite where possible or can be referred if required. Fees for procedures vary depending on complexity.

Infusions

We offer iron and aclasta infusions for our regular patients after consultation with one of our doctors to assess suitability. The process requires an initial consultation and a 1 hour appointment for the procedure and monitoring.

All doctors are currently providing Telehealth consultations for patients who have attended face to face in the last 12 months. If you need to speak to your doctor urgently, please phone our friendly reception staff and they can book either a telehealth consultation or send a message to your doctor
