Our reception staff do not have access to your clinical record and are unable to provide you with any details of the test result. If you wish to have further details (IE your cholesterol level) please make an appointment with your doctor.

Everyone’s health is unique and there are many reasons why your doctor has chosen how to action your results. If you are concerned in any way, please make an appointment to discuss this with your doctor.

Some actions that the doctor will take, once your results have been received are:

No action/normal – Reception staff can let you know the results have been received, seen by the doctor and the doctor has indicated everything is normal or as expected.
Non urgent recall – staff will phone you to make an appointment, as this is a non-urgent appointment these will be made within 3 to 6 weeks.

Doctor to advise – the doctor would like to discuss the result with you. They may phone you to discuss these over the phone. If you phone the practice and need to speak to your doctor the staff will take a message so as to not interrupt the current consultation. The doctor will call you back when they are available.

Repeat Prescriptions:

It is best practice you make an appointment to see your doctor for all repeat prescriptions. However, if you have seen your doctor within the last 6-12 months, you may phone and request a repeat prescription. Each request is at the discretion of your doctor. All doctors will fit phone calls in for these requests. When the Doctor returns your call, they will ensure it is still clinically relevant having a repeat script. They can then send your script by SMS or direct to your pharmacy. Please discuss this with your doctor when they call. We ask to provide enough time to schedule an Telehealth for your repeat scripts. Please plan ahead to ensure you do not run out of medication. All patients who have seen their doctor face to face within the past 12 months is able to be bulk billed. Please phone the practice on 9527 4100 to book this appointment. It is the patient’s responsibility to pick up and take the prescription to the Pharmacy. Please bring photo ID with you so staff can identify you to pick up your script.

Repeat Referrals:

When you make a follow up appointment with your specialist, they should let you know if you need a new referral or the existing one is still in date.

GP referrals are valid for 12 months from the date you see the specialist not the date of referral. You can see your specialist without a GP referral, however you will not be entitled to receive a Medicare rebate. It is illegal for doctors to back date referrals. It is at the discretion of the doctor to authorise this request. All patients who have seen their doctor face to face within the past 12 months are able to be bulk billed for repeat referrals. Please phone the practice on 9527 4100 to book this Telehealth appointment. Referrals do not need to be made out to the individual specialist. It is your choice where you present the referral. https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/organisations/health-professionals/subjects/referring-and-requesting-medicare-services
